Vibe-coding a theme for EmDash

Well, following my first post where I said I would get Codex to take a stab at putting some styles together… I did just that. And it was as pain-free as it could get.

I still have to dig more into it’s choices later to figure out whether it actually did a good job, or not. But at first glance it seems to have done well.

I also still have to look more into EmDash’s core concepts. I really loved the way Codex decided to hook up the footer links. Footer links are just a “Menu”. Though I wouldn’t say that choice was really Codex’s own. As it turns out, when you create a new Menu in EmDash, it does give an example of “footer” as a name. But at least Codex didn’t hallucinate a solution! It’s the small wins, eh!

I do think that perhaps I’ll create a new content type for something that somewhat resemble what tweets used to be. I’ll probably end up calling them toots or something. Because I am feeling the blog itch right now. I don’t actually post on Twitter (X) anymore, and that is kinda sad. It’s not the site it used to be.

I can quickly tell that EmDash is going to become an interest of mine going forward. Or at least I hope it is. The tech stack certainly ticks all the boxes for me. It’s backed by a company I’m particularly fond of. And well… anything but Wordpress at this point.
